Jay County Hospital, established in 1906, is a 25-bed, primary care facility with a 10-bed gero-psych unit. Serving all of Jay County and surrounding communities, Jay County Hospital provides residents with quality health care close to home.

The medical staff is comprised of physicians specializing in Family Practice, Emergency Medicine, Psychiatry, General Surgery, Pathology, and Radiology. Additionally, physicians, in a variety of specialized fields, conduct clinics through the Speciality Referral Center, located in the Jay Medical Facilities Building. This service allows patients to receive specialized physician care close to home.

The Jay County Hospital Emergency Department is staffed 24 hours a day by a team of highly qualified healthcare professionals trained to handle all types of emergencies. All Emergency Department physicians and nurses are required to have certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support. Additionally, physicians have certification in Advanced Trauma Life Support.

The Hospital also features a Women’s Center that offers digital mammography, bone densitometry and ultra sound and an Obstetrics Department with private labor and delivery rooms. Other departments/services include a laboratory; radiology and nuclear medicine; physical, occupational and speech therapy; respiratory therapy; surgery; cardiac rehab; infusion clinic and sleep lab.

The Surgery Center, a state-of-the-art facility, houses the general surgeons’ office and two outpatient surgical suites. Out-patient surgeons and specialized diagnostic procedures are provided, offering patients more personal and easily accessible care.
